GENERAL INFORMATION
The Career Academy of Real Estate is approved by the Alabama Real Estate Commission for the purpose of offering distance education courses. The courses offered via the distance education delivery method are:
· Salesperson Prelicense
· Post License
· Broker Prelicense
· CE Courses

TYPES OF INSTRUCTION AVAILABLE
The above courses can be taken in any of the following ways:
- Live Instructor-Led Internet Classes (when offered)
- Self-Paced Sessions (Internet based or CD based)

MISSION STATEMENT
To provide real estate licensees and prospective licensees with mastery-based education opportunities that allow the student to learn the concepts and develop the skills necessary to build a lawful, ethical, and financially and personally rewarding real estate practice.

SCHOOL RECORDS
The Career Academy of Real Estate is required by the Alabama Real Estate Commission to maintain records for every student for a period of four years.

REFUND POLICY
No refunds will be given after registration unless the student is experiencing technical issues with his/her computer that cannot be resolved.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Students need to have access to a phone, the Internet and email.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Available seven days a week; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Central Standard Time.

ORIENTATION
Live Instructor-Led Internet Classes

If a student is interested in taking live instructor-led Internet classes, a 15-minute telephone orientation with a school representative is required. To schedule an orientation appointment email the school via the support tab on the company's website.

After requesting an orientation appointment, the student will be contacted by a representative of the school to schedule a convenient time. During this orientation the school representative will walk the student through the process of logging into the Internet classroom, teach the student how to use the online tools that are available and answer any questions.

Self-Paced Sessions (Internet based or CD based)
No live orientation necessary. Student will receive a series of emails acquainting him/her with the component of the course.

SALESPERSON PRELICENSE COURSE
PLATFORMS FOR TAKING THE COURSE
Live Instructor-Led Internet Classes

The Prelicense live instructor-led Internet classes are taught on a continuous basis. They are taught from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Prelicense live instructor-led Internet classes are designed so that a student can begin with any class. It is not necessary to wait for a particular beginning point. The Career Academy of Real Estate requires 100% of the Prelicense live instructor-led Internet classes to be taken by the student. If an absence occurs, the class can be made up by waiting for the class to be offered again or by taking the corresponding self-paced session.

Self-Paced Instruction
The self-paced sessions are on the company website at www.CareerAcademyofRealEstate.com. To log-in, the student types in his/her email address and the password that was established by the student at the time of online registration.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE SALESPERSON PRELICENSE COURSE
This 60-hour Prelicense course must be completed within twelve months from start date.

To complete the course a student must successfully complete the following requirements:

· Attend 100% of all sessions (live instructor-led Internet or self-paced).

· Complete and return the "Distance Education Evaluation" form and the Student Affidavit form located on the last pages of this manual. The purpose of this affidavit is to certify that the student completed all of the sessions personally and did not allow anyone else to take or attend sessions on his/her behalf. (live instructor-led Internet or self-paced Internet).

· Take and pass a proctored school final examination. For assistance in making arrangements to take a proctored school final examination, call a school representative at 800-481-3116 or send an email via the support tab on the website. There are three final exams. The student must make 70% or better to pass the exam. If a student fails to pass the first final exam, a second final exam will be administered. If a student fails to pass the second final exam, a third final exam will be administered. These exams can be taken until the student passes.

The student is encouraged to attend the live instructor-led Internet classes and to retake any/all of the self-paced Internet sessions while attempting to pass the school final exam.

During the final exam the student is allowed to use clean scratch paper and a non-programmable calculator provided by the student. After passing the school final exam, the student will be mailed a Certificate of Completion. At this point the student is ready to contact AMP (Applied Measurement Professionals) at www.GoAMP.com to schedule an appointment to take the Alabama Salesperson's State Examination. The Certificate of Completion must be presented at the AMP testing centers to gain admittance.

POST LICENSE COURSE

The self-paced sessions are on the company website at www.CareerAcademyofRealEstate.com. To log-in, the student types in his/her email address and the password that was established by the student at the time of online registration.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE
This course must be completed within the first six months of licensure for active licensees and within one year for inactive licensees.

To complete the course a student must successfully complete the following requirements:
· Complete 100% of all the self-paced sessions.

· Complete and return the "Distance Education Evaluation" form and the Student Affidavit form located on the last pages of this manual. The purpose of this affidavit is to certify that the student completed all of the sessions personally and did not allow anyone else to take sessions on his/her behalf.

· Take and pass a proctored school final examination. For assistance in making arrangements to take a proctored school final examination, call a school representative at 800-481-3116 or send an email via the support tab on the website.

There are three final exams. The student must make 70% or better to pass the exam. If a student fails to pass the first final exam, a second final exam will be administered. If a student fails to pass the second final exam, a third final exam will be administered. These exams can be taken until the student passes. After passing the school final examination, a school representative will electronically notify the Alabama Real Estate Commission of the student's completion. There is no Certificate of Completion given to the student. There is not state examination that must be taken (only the school final examination). The student is instructed to get with his/her broker and send in an application for an Original Salesperson License. BROKER PRELICENSE COURSE

Self-Paced Instruction Only

The self-paced sessions are on the company website at www.CareerAcademyofRealEstate.com. To log-in, the student types in his/her email address and the password that was established by the student at the time of online registration.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE
All students will receive 15 hours of continuing education. This course also meets the licensee's continuing education requirement for risk management education.

To complete the course a student must successfully complete the following requirements:
· Complete 100% of all self-paced sessions
· Complete and return the "Distance Education Evaluation" form and the Student Affidavit form located on the last pages of this manual. The purpose of this affidavit is to certify that the student completed all of the sessions personally and did not allow anyone else to take or attend sessions on his/her behalf. (live instructor-led Internet or self-paced Internet).
· Take and pass a proctored school final examination. For assistance in making arrangements to take a proctored school final examination, call a school representative at 800-481-3116 or send an email via the support tab on the website.

There are three final exams. The student must make 70% or better to pass the exam. If a student fails to pass the first final exam, a second final exam will be administered.
